Capital Campaign Kick- Off, March 29, 2009
We started the "Kick-Off" Sunday with announcements and appeals from parishioners at each of the Liturgies. Committee member Tom Lang speaks at the 9AM Liturgy with Fr. Pat Mullen.
Boy Scouts from Incarnation Troop 101 helped direct traffic and lead people over to the open house. Boy Scout Jackson T. leads this group.
We were greeted by parish staff and volunteers. Rita Guild was passing out maps.
The tour started in the central courtyard. Here is Fr.Tim.
Free donuts were provided by the Hospitality Committee.
The crowning jewel of our tour was all the work done to get the pre-school ready.
Mrs.Rosemarie Muscarella is our Preschool Director.
Our preschool will be for children ages 3-5. The preschool is housed in the south wing of the building.
A lot of work has gone into preparing the space for safe use. We are awaiting a certification inspection that will allow us to start taking applications.
A lot of work has been done on the gym. The old wood paneling has been covered with sound absorbent wall carpeting. Other improvements include painting, replacement of ceiling tiles, new lighting, new window screens and repairs to the bathrooms.
Used last year by Incarnation School for basketball games and eighth grade class parties , activities are now on hold, pending final kitchen installations and refinishing the gym floor and stage.
Most of the equipment in the large kitchen was obsolete and not usable under city building codes. Old appliances, wiring and pipes were removed . New appliances and flooring are being installed. Once finished and inspected by the Health Department, the large new kitchen will be available for parish events and private party rentals
Adjacent to the gym and kitchen, Ellis Hall has been completely redone. New paneling covers the walls waist high, lighting is improved, new floor tiles are being put down, and the room has been painted throughout.
Much work must still be done in order to retire our debt on the property. Please help.
The south and west side of the education building has many additional rooms large and small on the second floor. Decisions are still pending regarding their use. Incarnation Parish has many ministries, youth programs, prayer and spirituality groups and fraternal organizations which may utilize the space. It has been suggested using some of the space to provide community services for homeless families.
