Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our mission statement is descriptive of the mission and ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ and also exemplifies our role as his Body. Is is:"One Body: Blessed, Broken, Given".

Jesus is BLESSED; that is, set apart by the father and sent for the salvation of the world. We too have been set apart and sent to teach, to baptize, and to make disciples (Mt: 28:19).

Jesus is BROKEN; his life given to us in self-donation, never more evident is when his Body hangs upon the cross. We are broken by human sinfulness and selfish longings yet find redemption by our Savior's sacrifice on the cross.

Jesus is GIVEN; he gives to us all that he is so that we may live in him and he in us. Filled with God's Spirit we give our lives in loving service by making God's kingdom visible here on earth.

Our parish has already established goals in making the kingdom of God a reality here in Incarnation:

These will continue to be the main agenda for our pastoral council and parish staff this coming year.

In the context of these ongoing parish needs, this coming year will also be occupied with important programs and processes.

In 2002 we celebrate our 75th Anniversay as a Catholic community here in Glendale. Beginning in January and each subsequent month leading up to June, we celebrated an important facet of parish life. These celebrations culminated on Saturday June 22nd at a school alumni gathering and on Sunday June 23rd when our chief shepherd, Cardinal Mahony, joined us for 12 noon Mass. A sit down dinner followed mass in the small parking lot adjacent to the rectory.

We are recipients of a rich and lasting inheritance of those who have come before us. Though the passage of time has seen much change and many different faces representing the Body of Christ, the present is a reflection of those who have served us so well past and present.

God keep you!

Peace and Love,

Rev.Paul J. Hruby

Pastor
