Father Paul J. Hruby

I hope this note finds all of
you happy and healthy and
enjoying the autumn months!

Dear Parish Family:
As summer passes into autumn, so I begin my month long retreat at Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky. I have missed you all a great deal and look forward to seeing you in two months.
I had a wonderful stay with my brother and family in Idaho throughout August and into September. The quiet and beauty of the Northwest, especially in summertime, were very renewing. Time was spent mostly reading, hiking and appreciating the awesome wonder of God in creation!
I would like to personally thank Father Raju for his gift of four months at Incarnation. He returns to Rome to continue his study for an advanced degree in Canon Law. I know that he has been a tremendous blessing to all of you and now he has a home here in Glendale whenever he visits the United States.
You will continue to be in good hands with our very capable staff. Sacramental needs will be fulfilled by Msgr. Frilot and Fr. Tom as well as Fathers Gus and Pat on the weekends.
Please continue your prayers for the family of our eighth grader, Brad Magcalas. As you know, after a heroic three year battle with cancer, Brad went home to the Lord on Friday, 12 September. I had the privilege of being with him and his family that very morning. His suffering and death has already produced much fruit in our parish as evidenced by the Tidings article a few weeks ago.
Know that you will have a special place in my prayers and in my heart each day at Gethsemani!

Love,
Father Paul
