The troop brought 25 boys and adults to Camp Mather at the Grand Canyon. A select crew backpacked down the Bright Angel Trail and camped by the river, earning the Grand Canyon Trails Rim-to-River Award. The rest of the boys explored the rim trail. Weather moved in on Saturday night and it got very cold at the rim and it started to snow about midnight. We awoke to about 4 inches of snow covering everything. The people in the canyon camp had light rain but not the low temperatures. As they ascended back to the rim, it got colder and colder, until they emerged on the rim in a snowstorm.
